Let’s face it, most of us are pretty good at rewarding ourselves when it comes to life changing events. Maybe it is when you graduated college or when you sign the book deal.
But what about all of those small goals we set out to do every day?
This is one area where I feel a lot of people, especially writers, who miss out on rewarding ourselves who achieving their goals.
Think about the goals writers set on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. It could be something as simple as writing 1,000 words per week or to find five viable markets for your work.
But what happens when we meet our goals?
Nothing, we move on to the next one.
I am not suggesting we celebrate every goal completion with a lavish reward. But what about treating yourself to a movie or maybe making your favorite meal at home.
Remember it is important to celebrate each victory no how small they might be because they do add up.
So the next time you complete your goal for the day or week, take the time to give yourself more than just a pat on the back.
